to overview

BayWa r.e. has been recognised for its workplace excellence and employee engagement practices in the Asia Pacific region. The ‘Best Companies to Work for in Asia’ award, was given to BayWa r.e. APAC by HR Asia, one of the most highly-regarded HR magazines in the region.

BayWa r.e. APAC was one of just a handful of companies to demonstrate high levels of employee engagement and an ‘excellent’ workplace culture, earning praise from the organisers.

Daniel Gaefke, Managing Director of Projects in the APAC commented: “From small beginnings in 2015 with just one office and a small team in Japan, we now have operations in nine countries across APAC and over 160 colleagues working in the region.

“We pride ourselves on making BayWa r.e. a great place to work, where employees can share our vision for a carbon neutral world, and to see our efforts recognised in this way is most encouraging.”

Daniel added: “This region has a great employment opportunity for people to help grow the renewables industry. We hope that earning accolades like this will show that the sector has much to offer those seeking a career as part of the green economy.”

This year the awards made the point of recognising the disruption that many companies and their employees have faced during the Covid-19 pandemic.

William Ng, group publisher and editor-in-chief of HR Asia said, “Ten years from now, we will all look back at today’s pandemic and appreciate the value of genuine care and perseverance in overcoming one of our generation’s darkest moments. But for today, let us rejoice in the belief that when employers and employees are united, even the impossible can be made possible.”

BayWa r.e was in good company in being singled out for HR excellence, winning awards alongside them were well known companies such as Microsoft, SAP, Unilever and Maersk.
